Planning and Building is an integral task where architect and client have to compromise on a wide range of needs and requirements. Therefore it is important on the one hand that both parties know, understand and execute their roles and on the other to have good relations between them. This cognitive process should take its time and has to be discussed with appropriate resoluteness. But not only formal factors are important, but also informal – so we look forward to spend some time chatting with snacks & drinks and relaxing music.

BUILDING IN/WITH SAND

Our office is mainly engaged in various projects at the Gulf of Abu Dhabi. There the ground consists of sand up to astonishing depth. For that reason we offer the workshop “building in/with sand” for all age groups in the courtyard of Kaiserstraße 51-53 on Saturday, 29th of May from 2 to 6 pm … parents and their children are especially welcome!
A playful approach with the construction material “sand” is provided. Together we´d like to explore the potential of the material and experiment with different possibilities of consolidation of sand by merging with water, paste or cement – depending on participating age groups.
We are looking forward to meet you!

EPH Mock up rooms - latest photos!

We are proud to present the latest photos of mock up rooms of Emirates Pearl Hotel.

After reworking the Mock up we are presenting the latest photos of King Room and Junior Suite – Interior design by MKV, London. Out of 377 rooms there are 224 King rooms and 49 Junior Suites. The remaining categories are Twin Room, Suite, Royal Suite and Presidential Suite in upper floors of the hotel tower. Additionally there are ‘universal designed’ rooms.
We are pleased about the positive feedback by developer and operator, as well as international booking agencies, which are already inspecting the Mock ups.

EPH construction contract awarded to ACC

Arabian Construction Co (ACC) has been awarded an AED 870 million contract to build The Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel in Abu Dhabi by Emirates Pearl for Development and Investment LLC, a joint venture company between Atlas Telecom and Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC).

Designed by award-winning Austrian Architect Dennis Lems, The Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2012, located at corniche road opposite Emirates Palace Hotel and adjacent to Etihad Towers, another project under construction by ACC. Nassar Engineering Services (NES) is appointed Project Manager of the Development, UK-based MKV Design is the Interior designer and Roya International is client representative on behalf of Atlas Telecom.

The development sits on a 10,000m2 plots and consists of five F&B outlets, a 1000 m2 ballroom, 377 guestrooms and suites, 60 apartments, four basements, four podiums and a 45 storey tower 255 m high with a total built-up area of 130,000 m2.

The Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel will be managed by Rezidor Hotel Group under the luxury Regent brand. Mr. Ahmed Seddiq Al Mutawaa, Chairman of Atlas Group said.

ACC’s Chairman Mr. Ghassan Maraabi said that the Regent Emirates Pearl contract is an exciting project for ACC to be involved with as the development is set to become a landmark of the Abu Dhabi skyline.

ACC has been operating in Abu Dhabi since 1968 and is associated with many of capital’s landmark buildings including Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Capital Plaza, Emirates Palace Hotel, Sorouh’s Gate District and Al dar Properties’ Central Market redevelopment. The company has completed some of the UAE’s tallest developments, including the Almas Tower and Rose Rotana Tower in Dubai.

TDIC is a master developer of major tourism within Abu Dhabi. The company’s developments are helping to support Abu Dhabi’s evolution as a world-class destination for tourists, businesses and residents and helping to realize the Emirate’s 2030 ambitions of becoming a truly global destination of distinction.

The Atlas Group is a leading UAE-based telecommunications company which is diversifying into the hospitality sector. The group has a luxury business hotel in Dubai Media City, and is already considering a second Dubai property with long-term plans for a boutique hotels and exclusive residential villas in the Seychelles.

Workshop @ Loisium

DLAA was invited by Alu-König-Stahl – an important partner in planning for all types of glazing – to a workshop on energy efficient facades.

DLAA was invited by Alu-König-Stahl – an important partner in planning for all types of glazing – to a workshop on energy efficient facades. It was held in the Loisium Hotel in Langenlois, a picturesque small village surrounded by vineyards.This was a good opportunity to combine business with pleasure and we enjoyed it very much.
Now we are very keen on implementing this knowledge to our projects as smart technologies like this are always interesting for both – the client and the architect.

The lounge of the mock-up-room means a great leap forward for Emirates Pearl Hotel. The MUR is showing King Room and Junior Suite of 437 rooms in total. Each room has a luxury private balcony with an aluminum shading system and fibre-C cladding. Interior design done by MKV, London and execution done by Interior contractor Depa, Abu Dhabi.

Finalizing enabling works

The first leap on constructing the Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel is done… mission accomplished!

The enabling works contractor NSCC is currently finalizing works and preparing to hand over the site to the main contractor. On pictures you see the “big hole” with the blinding at a height of -18,75m below sea level.
