EPH construction contract awarded to ACC

Arabian Construction Co (ACC) has been awarded an AED 870 million contract to build The Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel in Abu Dhabi by Emirates Pearl for Development and Investment LLC, a joint venture company between Atlas Telecom and Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC).

Designed by award-winning Austrian Architect Dennis Lems, The Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2012, located at corniche road opposite Emirates Palace Hotel and adjacent to Etihad Towers, another project under construction by ACC. Nassar Engineering Services (NES) is appointed Project Manager of the Development, UK-based MKV Design is the Interior designer and Roya International is client representative on behalf of Atlas Telecom.

The development sits on a 10,000m2 plots and consists of five F&B outlets, a 1000 m2 ballroom, 377 guestrooms and suites, 60 apartments, four basements, four podiums and a 45 storey tower 255 m high with a total built-up area of 130,000 m2.

The Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel will be managed by Rezidor Hotel Group under the luxury Regent brand. Mr. Ahmed Seddiq Al Mutawaa, Chairman of Atlas Group said.

ACC’s Chairman Mr. Ghassan Maraabi said that the Regent Emirates Pearl contract is an exciting project for ACC to be involved with as the development is set to become a landmark of the Abu Dhabi skyline.

ACC has been operating in Abu Dhabi since 1968 and is associated with many of capital’s landmark buildings including Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Capital Plaza, Emirates Palace Hotel, Sorouh’s Gate District and Al dar Properties’ Central Market redevelopment. The company has completed some of the UAE’s tallest developments, including the Almas Tower and Rose Rotana Tower in Dubai.

TDIC is a master developer of major tourism within Abu Dhabi. The company’s developments are helping to support Abu Dhabi’s evolution as a world-class destination for tourists, businesses and residents and helping to realize the Emirate’s 2030 ambitions of becoming a truly global destination of distinction.

The group has a luxury business hotel in Dubai Media City, and is already considering a second Dubai property with long-term plans for a boutique hotels and exclusive residential villas in the Seychelles.
